Rideshare & delivery charges
Rideshare, food delivery, grocery, scooter, and accommodation charges often include more than the advertised fare or item subtotal. The final statement amount may combine service fees, delivery fees, taxes, tips, tolls, cleaning charges, or adjustments made after the order. Some services also place a temporary authorisation before replacing it with the settled total.
Check the trip, order, or booking history in the relevant app and open the detailed receipt. Compare the merchant date as well as the bank posting date, since the two may differ. For shared household accounts, verify whether another authorised user placed the order. If two entries appear, confirm whether one is still pending before assuming you were charged twice. Memberships such as DashPass or other recurring benefits can also appear separately from individual orders.
Report an incorrect fare, tip, or missing-order charge through the service first because the receipt gives its support team the best evidence. Keep screenshots and reference numbers. If there is no matching account activity, reset the service password and remove unfamiliar payment methods or devices. Contact the card issuer when the merchant cannot explain the transaction or when the account shows activity you did not authorise.
